Demaris Everett

Demaris Everett - is that really her name?

In tracing my Everett ancestors I've kind of come to a brick wall.  The farthest back I have gotten is a Richard Everett and ??? living in Ontario,  I cannot decipher the name of my 4th Great Grandmother.

Here is how the name is displayed in the 1861 Census

and here it is in 1871

I believe the name is Demaris, but I have absolutely no documentation for it.
