The Gamble Family
| My great-great-grandfather is Benjamin C. Gamble. He enlisted in the Civil War -
Macomb County Company H 2nd Calvary September 15, 1861 at age 19 in Warren, Mich. Served
three years. Mustered out October 2, 1864. Discharged with gun wound in right leg, at
Detroit January 15, 1865. (Pages 60-61, Vol. 32 of the "Record of Service of
Michigan Volunteers in the Civil War 1861-1865") He lived all of his adult life in Macomb County. He was born in Fishlake, Yorkshire, England and came to the U.S. as a young child. |
