a) Bay City Times 1920-04-09 Page 3 William L. Carney, a former well know contractor of this city, died at his home in Detroit, last Saturday. Up to a few years ago Mr. Carney had resided his entire life in Bay City. At that time he removed to Detroit, where he continued in his old line of business. While a resident of Bay City, Mr. Carney was quite a factor in politics. Mr. Carney leaves a widow and one son and five daughters, also three brothers and three sisters. The funeral occurred in Detroit Tuesday morning. 1880 Census: Vol 2, Enumeration District 17, Sheet 48, Line 45 Mason, according to the 1911 R.L.Polk directory, and 1880 Census. In 1920 Soundex he is listed as living at 168 Magnolia in Detroit with his wife, son William who is 28, and grand-daughter Myrle who is 1 9/12 years old. Also noted living here is a "grand-daughter" named Margaret Hutton, aged 19. Buried at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit
