My Poole research takes my mother Sally Poole’s line back to William Poole and his wife
(don’t know her name yet, but I have picture of both of them). They were married in
1828 in Fenny Stratford, Buckinghamshire England. They had nine children and emigrated
around 1844 to Toronto where William was a pharmacist. Eli, my great great grandfather was
the eldest. His siblings were; William A who married and lived in Toronto. Thomas, Charles
and Joseph, all who moved to the states. There were sisters also: Catherine, Elizabeth,
Mary and Mrs. Sam Parker. All these children were born after 1829, and some of the younger
ones may have been born in Toronto.
Anyone with Poole ancestors who may have been from England by way of Canada and have those
three male names may be a relative.

I was just reviewing your listings for the name Poole. I have many of the same
names in my family tree.
My grandfather was Thomas J. Poole (1906-1987) of Auburn, New York. He was
married to Catherine O’Connell.
My GGrandfather was also Thomas Poole (1875-1967) – he died in Auburn, New York, but it
is my understanding that he came from Ireland. I have been recently made aware that
their family originally came from England. He was married to Mary Ellen
My GGGrandfather was also Thomas Poole. However I do not yet have dates of
his birth or death. He was married to Margaret Finn.
Have you ever come across anything that might be a connection?
Thank you for your information. If I ever find anything to connect the families,
I will let you know.
