a) Age 32, of 211 Webster Steet, Commercial Artist for the Austin Construction Company of Midland. Died Thursday (Feb. 17) afternoon at 12:25 o'clock at Mercy Hospital of pnumonia. He had been ill for a week. Married here in 1934, he had lived in Bay City all his life and was born November 20, 1911. He was a member of St. James Church, and the AFL Union. Surviving besides his widow, Catherine, are: a son, William Carney Jr., at home; his parents - William J. Carney of Detroit and Mrs. June Pearll of Bay City; and his grandmother, Mrs. Viola Carney, of Detroit. Buried at Elk Lawn Cemetary. (February 18, 1944 Bay City Times Obituary) His nickname was "Billie Pearll" since he grew up with Ted Pearll as his stepfather.
