1911 R.L.Polk Directory has him listed as living at 500 Garfield Ave.in Bay City. William G. Carney remembers his grandmother, who livedat 519 Garfield, mentioning this when he was young. Also listed atthat address is a William J. Carney, a bricklayer. Grandma Katie saysthat there were a number of masons and bricklayers in the family.Nickname was "Pete", for some reason. No one living knows why.
Dorothy was his third wife.

Catherine Cobley told me that he was a bar owner in downtown Detroit.
William George Carney said he owned a bar at the foot of the bridge toBelle Isle in Detroit.
